Michigan’s Mission Literacy – Providing Free Resources to Promote Literacy in Michigan

Each month, thousands of educators tap into the free literacy resources available at MissionLiteracy.com. Participants will take a guided tour through the revised website, experiencing a sampling of the latest and most used resources added in 2015-16, including comprehensive PD for K-5 Literacy, SAT updates, new Close and Critical Reading and Conceptual Learning resources for integrated and disciplinary literacy, and a new PreK-12 Literacy Assessment Resource.

Learn about new rubrics and format for Close, Critical and Generative Reading.
Work from a new flipbook that provides the newest information about CCGR and how it reflects the Michigan Reading Standards. It provides the rubrics, guiding questions, and a new way to answer the question, “What does the text mean?”
Participants will experience a way to meet all the Michigan Reading Standards with Close, Critical and Generative Reading that also mirrors the M-Step Extended process that uses multiple texts, constructed responses and three modes of discourse.
